We Show Up. Every Day.

There’s something powerful about watching a business move from an idea on paper to something real.
The office is coming together. The systems are being built. Equipment is arriving. We’re recruiting our team. Soon, the yellow One Hour trucks will be pulling out every morning to serve homeowners throughout our community.
But as we get closer to opening the doors at One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning, I keep coming back to something much simpler:
We have to show up. Every day.
Not just physically.
We have to show up for our customers, for each other, and for the community we’re asking to trust us.
The Standard Starts Before the First Call
One of the things I’ve learned throughout my career is that culture isn’t created by a mission statement hanging on a wall.
It’s created by what people repeatedly do.
When a technician has another call at the end of a long day, does he bring the same energy and professionalism he brought to the first customer?
When an installation becomes more difficult than expected, does the crew start looking for shortcuts - or do they slow down and make sure it’s done correctly?
When we make a mistake, do we make excuses, or do we own it and fix it?
When a teammate needs help, do we say, “That’s not my job,” or do we step in?
Those moments will define this company far more than anything I can put in a business plan.
That’s why I want our team to understand from the beginning:
Showing up is a standard.
Those Yellow Trucks Mean Something
Soon, people throughout Greater Hartford will start seeing our yellow One Hour trucks on the road and parked in their neighborhoods.
I don’t want them to see just another HVAC vehicle.
I want that truck to eventually mean something.
They’re going to show up.
They’re going to be professional.
They’re going to respect my home.
They’re going to tell me the truth.
They’re going to stand behind their work.
Our brand makes a pretty significant promise:
Always On Time…Or You Don’t Pay A Dime!®
That’s more than a slogan to put on a truck. It’s an expectation we have to earn the right to represent.
Every employee who puts on a One Hour uniform becomes part of that promise.
Service Is Personal to Me
We’re also building this company as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business.
I take that seriously.
My military experience taught me many things, but one lesson has stayed with me throughout my career: the people beside you need to know they can depend on you.
You show up prepared.
You know your responsibility.
You take care of your people.
You accomplish the mission.
And when things don’t go according to plan - and they rarely do - you adapt and keep moving.
Running an HVAC company is obviously very different from serving in the military, but those principles translate.
Accountability matters.
Preparation matters.
Standards matter.
And people matter.
Those are principles I want embedded in this company from Day One.
The Company We’re Building
We’re not going to be perfect.
We’re a new operation, and there will be things we have to learn, improve, and occasionally fix.
But there are some things we can control immediately.
We can hire good people.
We can train them.
We can give them the right tools.
We can establish clear expectations.
We can treat customers with respect.
We can hold ourselves accountable.
And we can get a little better every day.
That’s how I believe great companies are actually built - not through one big moment, but through thousands of small decisions made correctly and consistently.
One customer.
One service call.
One installation.
One teammate.
One day at a time.
Ready to Get After It
There is still plenty of work ahead of us.
We’re building the team.
We’re building the culture.
We’re building the processes.
We’re preparing the trucks.
We’re putting the infrastructure in place to deliver the level of service I expect this company to become known for.
And that’s what makes this stage so exciting.
We’re not inheriting somebody else’s culture.
We’re creating ours.
The standard we’re establishing is straightforward:
Quality work. Honest people. Exceptional service.
Show up prepared.
Take care of the customer.
Take care of your teammates.
Do what you said you would do.
Then come back tomorrow and do it again.
We show up. Every day.
For our team.
For our customers.
For our community.
We’re ready to get after it.
